Would you like to exchange experience, ideas, contacts in your work branch with colleagues from other countries? Get new affair partners? Prices for your dedication? Take part in network meetings?
Väg till Jobbet is a mentorship project where new Swedes who have been living up to 5 years in Sweden get a mentor in their work branch to build network and exchange experience/knowledge with Swedish people or people settled in the Swedish labor market.
It is a cultural project as well as a non-profit integration project sponsored by Ungdomsstyrelsen and Växjö Kommun.
Who can participate?
- Members in the association. It is free to participate in the project.
- Participates and mentors get guidance, take part in activities (i.e. workshops and lectures)
- Mentors can be employers, employees, people retired, students who have connection/are active in the Swedish labor market and are interested in other cultures
- Our project accept all branches.
Mentors will also help their "workmates" from other countries by presenting a better understanding of the Swedish labor market.
It is necessary to meet 5 hours/month up to nine months and send us monthly feedback by fylling in a "månadsrapport" (month report), so we can follow up the development of their meetings etc.
Participants are:
- New Swedes that have been living in Sweden up to 5 years
- mostly refugees
- the ones who have a residence permit in Sweden
- live in the county of Kronoberg
- between 18 and 55 years old
- the ones who have work experience from their home countries
- motivated to work in Sweden
What can a participate get?
- a certificate of having participated in the project

- guidance/extra help if it is needed
- prices during the area for self motivation and dedication/involvement etc.
What can a mentor get?
- New contacts
- Experience exchange
- Learn about new cultures
- A certificate after the project year has finished if she/he has been active throughout the year
- Guidance about mentorship if it needs
- Participates in activities the project offer and the association activities for free if they want
- Cooperation with IIS in different ways
- Prices during the year for motivation and dedication etc
This project focuses on refugees (the ones who sought asylum and got a residence visa) but even accepts other groups of foreigners. This is a requirement from the Swedish government.
